Telecommunications

When building around something as crucial as switching equipment, which provides service for 911 calling or even air traffic control, experience and attention to detail are essential. Imperial has completed over 400 telecommunication projects; we are familiar with the precarious environment and complex procedures involved with construction in this industry. From meticulously organizing underfloor wiring, to demolishing the upper floors of a central office while operations continue below, we can handle any challenge.

Our clients include:

Verizon/DFW International Airport
DFW Airport Data Center
Dallas, TX

Imperial worked with two owners to do a complete renovation of the 3rd floor of the DFW Airport Data Center – approximately 10,000 square feet – including demolition of existing elements. It is an essential switch facility for Verizon, and provides service for air traffic control, so it was critical that service was never disrupted. Imperial listened to the needs of both parties, worked with the airport’s strict environmental guidelines and drew from our vast experience with Verizon’s procedures and policies to complete the project on time.

Verizon
Video Hub Office (VHO) Site
Carrollton, TX

Verizon needed a prototype 35,000 square foot Video Hub Office constructed in and around a 24/7 operations facility – in four months’ time. They chose Imperial based on our reputation for completing complex projects with immovable deadlines. To eliminate delays, we focused on precise communication with the owner and engineering firm, working around the clock to upgrade the power and install complicated technical equipment. Imperial successfully met the deadline.

Sprint
Mountain’s Edge Central Office
Las Vegas, NV

Sprint needed a new 3,000 square foot switching station to serve their growing customer base in a small community outside of Las Vegas. Imperial had to complete this project during the high season, with limited labor resources and time constraints on obtaining permits. We proactively worked with the Associated General Contractors of America to ensure we had capable subcontractors, and we dedicated one specific person to work with city officials to obtain permits quickly.
